How to trade on punch

Plotting strikes

On Punch, you can trade options directly from your spot chart with strike lines.

 

  • While on an Index chart, tap any price on the y-axis → the strike line will appear instantly on your chart.

  • You can plot multiple strikes and pan the chart to view more.

  • Once a strike is plotted, you’ll see both CALL and PUT prices displayed on the left-hand side.

  • Tap on the CALL / PUT price to place trades directly.
  • The purple pointer box shows the LTP (Last Traded Price) of the selected scrip.

 

 

 

How to place an order on Punch?

On Punch, you can place orders directly from charts or the option chain.

 

 

🔹 From Index Charts (Spot)

You have two ways to place a trade:

  • Tap on the Trade (T) button → Select contract → Choose Buy or Sell.
  • Plot a strike price on the Y-axis → CALL/PUT prices appear → Tap on either to place an order.

 

🔹 From Option Price Charts

Tap on the Trade (T) button → Select order details → Punch to buy or sell.


 

🔹 From Stock Charts

  • Tap on the Trade (T) button.

  • Choose whether to trade Equity or Options.

  • Place your order.


 

🔹 From the Option Chain

  • Tap on Jump to 
  • Go to the Option Chain.
  • Tap on the CALL or PUT price
  • Order form opens → Place order.

 

 

 

Checking Call and Put Prices

For every plotted strike on your index or spot charts, you’ll see:

  • Real-time CALL price → shown in yellow

  • Real-time PUT price → shown in blue

 

Both prices appear on the left side of the strike line.

 

👉 To place a trade instantly, just tap on the CALL or PUT price.

 

Placing an order directly from the spot chart

Punch is the only platform where you can place trades directly from the spot chart. Here’s how:

 

1. Select the strike you want to trade.

2. Tap on the CALL (yellow) or PUT (blue) price.

3. The order form opens → choose lot size and order type (Market, Limit, or Trigger).

4. Tap “Punch to Buy” or “Punch to Sell” to execute your order.

 

No switching screens. No delays. Just trade straight from your spot chart.

 

 

Changing Lot Size

You can adjust lot size in two ways:

 

1. Manual entry → Tap the lot size field and type the exact quantity (useful for large orders).

2. Quick scroll → Swipe/scroll the lot size for faster adjustments with smaller quantities.

 

 

 

Does Punch allow OTM options?

You are free to trade options with strikes at any point, we do not have any restrictions on OTM or ITM strikes. However, to manage risk we restrict trading in illiquid contracts.

Can I trade in partial lots instead of whole lots?

In futures and options trading, you buy in lots, which are set quantities of shares.

  1. You must purchase whole multiples of a lot size—1, 2, 3, etc.

  2. Purchasing fractional lots, like 1.5 or 2.5 lots, is not possible.

 

Where can I see my today's P&L and positions?

Punch gives you a unique way to track your trades — fast and clutter-free.

 

🔹 Mini View (Active Positions)

  • Tap the “Positions” icon in the bottom navigation bar.

  • See all your currently active positions in one glance.

  • Swipe or tap the arrows to switch between open positions.

  • View individual P&L as well as your Total P&L for the day.

 


 

🔹 Full View (All Positions)

  • Tap on “Jump to” → Positions.

  • See all your positions — open & closed — across all scrips.

  • Track your total P&L in one place.


 

👉 With Punch, you get both a quick mini-view for fast monitoring and a detailed full view for deeper tracking.

 

 

 

 

How do I exit or square off a position on Punch?

Punch gives you multiple ways to exit trades quickly:

 

🔹 Exit directly from the Chart

  • If you have an active position, it shows directly on your spot/index chart.

  • Tap on the “X” to close that position instantly.

 


 

🔹 Exit from the Position Mini View (Active Positions)

  • Open the Positions (mini view) from the bottom navigation.

  • Tap the 3-dots (More options) menu.

  • Select Exit to close one position.

  • Or choose Exit All to close all active positions at once.


 

🔹 Exit from Full View (All Positions)

  • Go to Jump to → Positions (full view).

  • Tap Exit on any individual position.

  • Or use Exit All at the top to square-off everything together.

How to exit all your positions together on Punch?

Punch lets you square-off all active positions together in one tap.

 

 

🔹 From Mini View (Bottom Nav)

  1. Tap Positions from the bottom navigation bar.

  2. Open the 3-dots (More options) menu.

  3. Select Exit All → all your active positions will close instantly.

 


 

🔹 From Full View (Jump To → Positions)

  1. Tap Jump To.

  2. Go to Positions.

  3. Tap Exit All at the top to close everything together.

 

 

Where can I see the profit or loss on Punch?

Punch shows your Profit & Loss (PnL) in two dedicated places:

 

🔹 On Charts

If you’re trading options, you can see the live PnL of your position directly on the index or spot chart.

 

 

🔹 In Positions (Mini View)

  • Tap Positions in the bottom nav menu.

  • See live PnL for your active position and your total PnL

 

 

 

🔹 For a detailed view of all PnLs (open & closed):

  • Tap the 3-dots → View all positions, OR

  • Go to Jump To → Positions to see your comprehensive PnL report

 

 

 

 

Are there any restrictions on trading weekly options on Punch?

There are absolutely no restrictions on trading weekly options.
